One of the tasks I have given to my film students is to find a short film online that inspires them. Well one student has already found one that inspires me. Alex Roman is the creator of “The Third and The Seventh”. This short film seen on Vimeo below (watch in HD) and on his website is absolutely spectacular.
There are multiple reasons why this film is just amazing. Visually it inspires. I have always been a fan of architecture and constantly am looking at designs and photography of architecture. I almost wish I had focused my studies in photography strictly to Architecture. I am also fascinated about the visual creation process of Film. I teach film. The rules of photography and film are similar but also vastly different in how the audience is appreciated. The 3rd and final reason why this is so amazing is it is all yes ALL CG. Yep CG (created by a computer, computer generated), created designed all with rendering programs and Photoshop and 3DMax. It is just pure visual beauty. IF you don’t believe it is CG then check out this video. This video really plays like the Mozart or Beethoven of Film. Inspiring.
